In August 2003 on installation GDS-850 open joint-stock company "Lukoil-UNP" is successfully started in operation the closed ground torch first in Russia for burning emergency dumps from installation.

In the first quarter 2003 firm "Aliter-Aksi" on the basis of the project of the closed ground torch American firms "Callidus Technologies, Inc (Oklahoma)" have been developed working drawings, produced and put on assembly site lined metallic structure. During all period of installation architectural supervision of construction was carried out.

Advantages of the given design in comparison with existing torches on masts the following:

  • absence of a luminescence
  • practically silent work
  • ground service of torches
  • full burning products due to modern torches
